Flight Jet Simulator To Experience Historical Battles
If you cannot afford to take flying lessons or cannot fly the type of plane that interests you than you should look into using a flight jet simulator. This is a piece of gaming software that simulates jet combat and puts you in situations that these planes were once in. These simulators are not as complex as the real military simulators but they are challenging and are a great opportunity to experience flying a jet.
Microsoft was one of the first companies to develop a gaming flight simulator as there first program was released in 1982. The next big change in gaming simulators arose when PlayStation released Air Combat. You will find these light combat simulators listed by the time period they cover and the aircraft. Some of the simulators are even from specific battles.
The three main combat flight simulators available from Microsoft include Combat Flight Simulator WWII Europe series, Combat Flight Simulator 3: Battle for Europe and Combat Flight Simulator 2 WWII Pacific Theater. If you are looking for the most realist software then you should check out the IL-2-Sturmovik series available from Ubisoft.
These jet combat simulators are all based on specific time periods as well as the types of jets you can fly. Many times you can even find specific battles from history. There are not many programs available from WWI but two options include the Red Baron and the Ride of Flight: The First Great Air War.
The many different programs from WWII include the Combat Flight Simulator series, Battle of Britain II: Wings of Victory, IL-2-Surmovik 1946, Aces Over Europe, B-17 Flying Fortress, 1942: Pacific Air War and Aces High. There is one program from the Vietnam war available, Flight of the Intruder, and one program from the Korea War, MiG Alley.
What makes these flight jet simulators exciting is that you need to learn how to fly all the different planes as each has it own fighting style and flying strengths and weaknesses. This means that each situation can be experienced a new over and over. This type of simulator is known as a survey simulator and the jet controls you use are very close the real thing.
