How To Side-Step Google's Iron Adsense Hand
We all know that Adsense is that the grandfather of contextual ads and can be quite lucrative. Adsense can work well for anyone who decides to use it, of course there are more factors involved that can confirm degree of success. If you do not know, then we can tell you the Adsense program has fairly stringent rules that Google does take very seriously. So what precisely do you need to require care of to make positive your AdSense account is safe?
Google does everything it can to prevent click fraud, so don't do anything that could even suggest you might be doing this, such as logging in to your AdSense account from third party computers. So obviously you want to avoid click fraud, but you also have to be careful not to do anything that could even suggest this. For this reason, it's not a good idea to log in to your account from work, a public computer or one belonging to a friend. You might only be logging on to a third party computer to check your account, but then someone else might use the same computer and click on one of your ads and Google will be able to track this. Since computers in the same office will usually share a single IP address, it's not a good idea to log on to your account from work either.
When you get your ad blocks in place, be extremely careful that you do not call any special attention to the ads. Google has everything set up in the code you put on your site, and you do not have to do anything. So you just need to be concerned with proper placement and making your ads blend in properly. Even though this doesn't directly come under 'Click Fraud', it does fall in the same category, since you're pushing others to click on your ads, which is wrong. The safe way to avoid problems is copy and paste the code and that is it.
The one particular metric you always need to track is your click through rate, or CTR. You should become concerned if you ever see your click through rate exceed about five percent. For instance, if you find a CTR that's 20% then there's definitely click-fraud going on, that you need to stop. Even though it is not your fault, you still have to do something about it even if it is just letting Google know that something unusual is going on. It is insanely stupid to ever think about using keyword stuffing. While it's important to maintain the keyword density of the pages on your site, you shouldn't go ahead and start to stuff too many keywords into your pages, because that's a sure shot way to disturb that relationship that you share with Google. Different search engines have different criteria for keyword density, but no more than roughly 3% will be fine. You can make serious money with AdSense, so that is why you need to make sure your business assets are cared for at all times. Google's TOS are not overly strict, it is just that so many people try to game the system in one way or another.
