Read Some Information On Comic Book Collections

One of my favorite hobbies is the collection of used and new comic books. I possess over 15 150 comic books that include first printings, autographed copies and graphic novels. Most all of my collection is super heroes. Why do folk collect comics?

As with most small boys, cartoon books fascinated me. Journeys to peculiar planets, strange beings settled on destroying earth just because they will be able to, and the super heroes who must stop the law breakers. If you take all the elements needed to draft a story, shake and toss the ideas around, brainstorm and throw in a little drama, then you got a good story.

I had comic books growing up but never realized the potential market for it. Sometimes I find a comic that I in particular remember reading as a kid and have a look at how much it is worth today. I am amazed and a little mad that I did not keep them. My current comic book collection commenced in the mid-1980's when comic books were only seventy-five cents. I was living at home and paid tiny lease. I happened to notice a comic book store not far from where I had worked. I walked in and entered another world. The better part was the comics that were reduced in price. I'd get bags full and read with pleasure into the tiny hours of the morning. Other times I found autographed copies from the artists or writers and would buy those. When Batman and The Dark Knight series came out I managed to get all four first printings. Unfortunately they were stolen, along with some other valuable merchandise.

My comic book collection contains lots of graphic stories. I enjoy both the comic book and the graphic novel. Oftentimes I come across people who collect comic books and they try to explain to me that they do not read them; they keep it for the potential value. While I don't join in that practice, if you suspect the cartoon books you purchase will be worth something, then by every means do it. I know some of my cartoon books are worth money but that isn't a consideration when I buy them. If I want to read a particular comic book, and it is worth money, I will read it anyway. It may deflate the price, but to reiterate, that is not why I buy them.

Many folks buy covers for their cartoon books. That is a very good idea. Nonetheless you would like to ensure the bags are acid free or it'll affect the look of your comics. Storing them in a dry, cool place is preferred. Boxes that are equal in size to the comic are a great idea since they bend really simply.

Folks collect comics for varied reasons and it's good to understand how to look after them. The possibility of comic books rising in value is hard to predict, yet it can be done. It takes a bit of research and some luck but the risk is worth it to many people. I collect comics because I really like to read them and work out how the hero will at last catch the criminal. Whatever the reason, comic books are a staple in our society.

The album feels even more like a collection of singles (instead of an actual movie soundtrack) than Help! or A Hard Day's Night, but maybe that's because every song sounds like it could have been a hit single--with the natural exception of the goofy/weird instrumental "Flying." Even George's "Blue Jay Way" paints a vivid sound-portrait in fascinating detail. (I consider Joni Mitchell's "Car on the...
