Create a Visually Alluring E-Learning LMS Course Logo
Always in developing e-learning content and preparing it for migration to a learning management system, there are choices that must be made. Beyond decisions about the content itself--what to include and exclude--as well as navigational, format, and others, there are the choices related to design and style. One element of design is your e-learning course logo.
In the long run, a logo is basically irrelevant. Your courseware itself needs to be strong and effective in order to survive in the e-learning market. However, we don't use expressions like "You shouldn't judge a book by its cover" for no reason. The fact is that we do make quick decisions based on visual cues when we choose everything from shampoo to education to romantic partners. Like an interesting book cover, a logo can intrigue viewers and appeal to their sensibilities.
What's the function of logos, and how do they work? Your logo will act as the symbol of your e-learning course; it will embody your learning material as well as aid in your audience's recognition of your product.
Logos can be in many forms, including a simple name or logotype, or an icon, sign or emblem also known as ideograms. Ideograms are often recognizable on their own; for example, you know the gas station is a Shell when you see the ideogram of the shell on the sign, and the actual word "Shell" isn't necessary.
Of course, it's possible to hire a graphic designer to design your courseware logo, but why not add a personal touch by coming up with your very own? After all, it's your learning system based on your expertise, and it's not difficult to design a logo.
So how do you go about creating a unique and interesting logo? Tirelessly brainstorm your ideas and sketch them out by hand--and don't be afraid to use up lots of paper. Big design companies use this system, sketching everything out by hand before referring to a computer. Sketching by hand is the best and quickest way to visualize and design your courseware system's logo.
Once you've got your simple and unique logo design, test it out in different ways. Test out a variety of colors and combinations, and add and subtract images and elements. Try out your logo in different situations, adding text in different positions around it to find out where it looks best, and trying out different font sizes and styles.
Your logo should be strong and simple, representing a learning management system course that potential users feel confident placing their trust in.

The Best That I Could Do 1978-1988 $7.50 The Best That I Could Do collects the singles that led John Mellencamp into the radio/jukebox pantheon he celebrated in "R.O.C.K. in the U.S.A." and "Cherry Bomb." While albums such as American Fool, Uh Huh, and Scarecrow held Top 10 spots for months, their spinoff hits made this Hoosier disciple of Jagger, J.B., and Iggy into something like a Reagan-era John Fogerty: not only were "Pink Houses," ... |
