How The Modern Day Classroom Environment Has Effected GCSE Maths Tuition
Teachers have seen the power that they once had in the classroom diminish in recent years. Less and less respect now seems to be afforded by pupils to their teachers, which many feel stems from the banning of corporal punishment in state schools in 1985. The awareness that pupils have regarding restrictions that teachers are operating under has increased greatly and as a result many push the boundaries. But how exactly has this, as our title suggests, had an impact on GCSE Maths tuition?
Classroom situations
The removal of certain powers that teachers used to have means that if a situation arises in the classroom they are less able to deal with the problem quickly. The main reason behind this is because teachers are now prohibited by law from touching a student, unless it is to remove them from the risk of harm. In our more and more litigation-orientated culture it is no surprise that most teachers stick to these laws.
Result on level of teaching
Any disruptive situation that arises is likely to take longer to sort due to the teacher not being able to physically remove the pupil, which can have an adverse effect on the level of GCSE Maths tuition received by the rest of the pupils. As a result it could be that some pupils are going into examinations having never received adequate teaching in some areas of the syllabus.
An answer to the problem
Many parents that are aware of the problems that are more frequently occurring in classrooms are now seeking assistance from elsewhere to make sure their children are well prepared. As a result there has been a higher demand for GCSE Maths tuition which is in keeping with the importance with which the subject is viewed.
A new direction
Online tutoring providers have taken advantage of this demand for more tuition and there has been serious growth in this area. Online tutoring can prove especially beneficial as it offers virtual classes, which means your child is still in contract with other pupils for group work, but can also receive one-to-one assistance.
