Pentagon Shooter Has A Problem With Marine Corps
The Marine Corps Museum was targeted by the Pentagon shooter yet again, authorities found Friday morning. Investigators have linked shots fired at the Pentagon and two other Marine Corps buildings within the past two weeks to the very same weapon and expect the very same for the latest shooting. Security has been tightened at the Pentagon, where the Marine Corps Marathon will pass by on Sun.
Marine Corps Museum had more bullet holes
More bullet holes were found on the exterior of the Marine Corps Museum in Virgina near Washington, D.C., Friday morning. According to CNN, the bullet holes were on the side of the building. The side facing Interstate 95 was where the holes were found. The FBI said the shots were likely fired from the interstate sometime within the middle of the night. The building didn’t have anybody in it when the shots were shot. This meant nobody was hurt. The shooting Thursday night is the second time in less than two weeks someone has shot at the Marine Corps museum. Shots at the museum could be connected to shots two weeks ago at a nearby Marine Corps recruiting station and at the Pentagon, says the FBI.
The direction of the Pentagon shooter
The string of shootings at military buildings around Washington began on Oct. 17 with the first attack on the Marine Corps Museum. Police and FBI had to start investigating the Pentagon just two days later. This had been because two windows were shattered with six shots from a shooting. The Marine Corps recruiting station had been then shot at. The FBI came to the conclusion the very same high-powered rifle had been involved in all three incidents. The attacks have left no suspects to be looked for. Also, nobody has been hurt in any attacks.
More security for Marine Corps Marathon
The shooter is being asked to surrender by the FBI. FBI Washington special agent John Perrin told MSNBC that investigators say the shooter has a problem with the Marine Corps but not the military in general. The person who's doing all of this has tried to make sure they don’t hurt everyone. The Pentagon explained that there can be a lot of security at Sunday’s Marine Corps marathon. This is because of the incident. The Defense Department’s headquarters will have 30,000 marathon runners going by it.
