This Is What Is Missing From Most Diets
If you have an ideal weight that you want to reach, then have you stopped to imagine what it will be like to reach that target? How much better you will feel, how much fitter you will be and all the different things you will then be able to do when you are slimmer? It might sound corny to think about all that, but it is actually vital that you do it if you want to diet successfully.
If you want to lose weight then it requires a lot of effort, you need to constantly resist temptation when you are hungry throughout the day, you need to cook different meals which are more healthy but probably take longer to prepare, and you need to watch everything you eat. You aren't going to keep doing all that without some incentive. To get yourself motivated then you need to think about the end goal like we discussed, when you know what you are working hard for then it makes it so much easier to do. So grab some paper and as you think through what it will be like to hit your target weight then actually write it down so you have a permanent copy of it. One way to make it a lot more powerful is to use pictures to help you visualize it all, so look at what you wrote down and then find pictures you can cut out and stick on the paper to emphasize all the good that will come out of your diet. Once you have all that then stick it up on the wall near the refrigerator so it can motivate you whenever you are in the kitchen.
Another great way to motivate yourself is to promise yourself some sort of reward. There are two ways you can do it, you can use lots of little gifts or one big one, if you do the little gifts then use a drop in weight of something like half a stone to trigger the reward, or if you want a big one then wait until you reach your target weight before you give that to yourself. Whether the rewards are small or big it doesn't matter, the result is the same, you will push harder to reach your goals as you want to get that reward.
Unfortunately very few diets actually touch on keeping yourself motivated, which is why I think so many people give up after a week or two when they start a new diet. If you ignore that obvious flaw though then there are some excellent diets available right now which look like they can get results, like the Fit Yummy Mummy diet for instance. By using a good diet plan to help you lose weight then hopefully you will start to get results in the first few weeks, when you do then that will spur you on and get you even more motivated as you push towards your ideal weight.
